Training
To achieve six sigma, companies must determine how to focus and deploy six sigma so that key business priorities and strategy issues are addressed. Deployments can range from simply training a few employees to become Black Belts to a larger scale deployment that embraces and mobilizes the entire organization. Whatever the strategy selected, it must flow down from the executive leadership, which makes executive and champion training imperative.

Typically, companies that have engaged Six Sigma Global for their improvement process are looking for more than diversifying the skills of a few strategic individuals. With this investment they initiate a company-wide culture-shift geared toward breakthrough change and the pursuit of perfection. This proposal is geared towards a more comprehensive deployment that we believe will yield breakthrough improvements in your processes and bottom-line profitability.

Yellow Belt Training
Many other employees (including hourly) can and should be trained in the fundamentals of six sigma. To quickly achieve a major cultural change in an organization, we recommend teaching a large percentage of the employee population in basic six sigma tools and techniques. This gives them a stronger understanding of the process so that they can assist Black Belts and Green Belts on their projects. We call these employees Yellow Belts.

Yellow Belts are the team members that Green Belts and Black Belts rely on in the work place. The Yellow Belt is needed to gather data, participate in problem solving, and add their expertise to the exploration process. The general participant will have little or no knowledge of the six sigma methodology. They should have basic high school level math and reading skills.

Our Yellow Belt training consists of two days of training. Typically SSG will begin the Yellow Belt training, after which the company will assume responsibility for the training. Company trainers can include Black Belts, Green Belts or experienced Yellow Belts. SSG will train the trainers during a co-taught Yellow Belt Wave. Training done by company trainers will require the purchase of a Yellow Belt training license from SSG.
